Friday Farm Club
Farm Morning Sessions
Welcome to Friday Farm Club Morning Sessions – a unique opportunity to step away from daily routines and immerse yourself in the peaceful rhythm of rural life.
Nestled in the heart of Suffolk’s St Edmundsbury countryside, our sessions are carefully designed to bring families, home educators, and nature enthusiasts together for relaxed, engaging mornings on the working farm. Suitable for toddlers, home-educated children, and adults alike, we create a warm, inclusive space where everyone can learn, participate, and connect with the land that feeds us.
Who We Welcome
Our Farm Morning Sessions are thoughtfully tailored to accommodate a diverse range of participants. Whether you’re bringing curious toddlers eager to meet friendly farm animals, organising a group for home-educated children seeking practical learning opportunities, or joining as an adult looking to reconnect with nature, there’s a place for you here.
For children aged 9 and over, the sessions offer enhanced opportunities to take on more responsibility, from leading small tasks to asking in-depth questions about farm management and sustainable practices. We believe that farm life has something to teach everyone, regardless of age or experience level, and our team is dedicated to ensuring every participant feels valued and supported throughout their visit.
Hands-On Farm Activities
At the core of our sessions are practical, hands-on activities that bring farm life to life. Each morning, participants will have the chance to take part in a varied programme tailored to the season and farm needs, including:
- Animal Feeding & Care: Get up close with our friendly flock of sheep, goats, chickens, and pigs as you learn how to prepare nutritious meals and provide gentle daily care. Our guides will share insights into animal behaviour, welfare standards, and the important role each creature plays in our farm ecosystem.
- Growing & Harvesting Food: Walk through our vegetable plots and polytunnels to discover where food really comes from. Depending on the time of year, you’ll help plant seeds, tend to growing crops, or harvest fresh produce to take home or use in our on-site tasting stations. We focus on organic and sustainable growing methods, teaching valuable lessons about soil health and seasonal eating.
- Everyday Farm Maintenance: Gain a real understanding of farm life by contributing to essential tasks like mending fences, preparing bedding for livestock, or maintaining our compost systems. These activities are adapted to suit all abilities and are designed to show how every action supports the farm’s overall health.
All activities are guided at a gentle pace, ensuring they remain accessible, practical, and enjoyable for every member of the group.
Benefits of Farm Life Connection
Our Friday Farm Club Morning Sessions go beyond hands-on activities – they offer a chance to build meaningful connections with nature, food, and each other. In our supportive outdoor environment, participants learn about the journey from field to plate, develop respect for living creatures, and gain practical skills that can be applied at home.
The peaceful farm setting provides a welcome break from screens and urban life, helping to reduce stress and encourage mindfulness. For home-educated families, the sessions offer valuable curriculum-linked learning opportunities in science, food technology, and environmental studies, all delivered in a fun, engaging way.
Starts at 10 am and Finishes at 12 pm
We are committed to creating a safe, inclusive space where everyone can feel comfortable getting their hands dirty and discovering the joys of farm life.

My sons really loved getting stuck in and helping feed and clean out the animals. Despite cold, grey weather they can’t wait to come back!
